I started this brand new blog to chronicle my aromatherapy studies. I am an aromatherapist in training with a small bath beauty and perfumery cottage business.
Adirondack Aromatherapy specializes in natural bath, body, and beauty products made from only 100% therapeutic grade essential oils.
All products are formulated with care, expertise and attentiveness by myself, Gretchen Morganstern, a 15+ year veteran of the healing arts. I began my formal training as a healer while still in college during the 1990′s and have been a level II practitioner of Reiki for over 10 years. I am currently a Usui Reiki master candidate in addition to being a certified aromatherapist in training.
Since the 1990′s I have further enriched my education in the natural and complimentary healing arts as an author. For several years I published a newspaper column entitled “Alternative Awareness,” in which I was able to regularly work, interview, and practice with prominent healers in the Upstate New York region, including renowned herbalist Susun Weed and inventor of Rebirthing, Leonard Orr. Of all the dozens of therapies I has gained experience with and exposure to, Aromatherapy and Wise Woman Herbal Healing have always resonated with me the most.
For many years my focus as a healer shifted toward my own family, as one by one, each of our 3 children were diagnosed with autism. With the fervor only a mother seeking well-being for her child can muster, I
began to apply to apply principles from the therapies I had studied to my own children’s recovery.

Aromatherapy and flower remedies, as well as Reiki, have worked wonders for addressing our children’s challenges. A large part of my mission in persuing national aromatherapy accreditation is to share this passion for and fervent belief in the amazing healing powers contained within essential oils with others in similar situations.
Please check back often as I will be updating this blog on a regular basis. First and foremost I intend to archive my many years of “Alternative Awareness’ articles on this blog. Please Stay Tuned!
